a poem, a conversation.

stars and sonatas

just squeeze your eyes really
hard
what if we’re actually
seeing other galaxies out there
i think thats really
fucking amazing
all I know is, every time I listen to
a piece of intricate
well thought out music,
I can hear universes
when I listen to the sea shells I brought back
from Cairo
years ago
with the "sea sounds"
I can hear worlds, I think
that's why I'm in love with music
and I feel it's my escape
into something grand
like
how 60 people come together
in a choir
and make heavenly sounds
If you listen very closely
every frequency
comes together to make a
brand new universe
like in that moment,
we are one creature
breathing, exhaling, emotions in harmony
and thats why i hate concerts
because every song we perform then
means that we won’t perform it that way again
with all our heart and soul
because it’ll be shelved
and we’ll move on
but i just want to hold on to those feelings
just a while longer
while my soul is pouring out notes from my body
my instrument
and the sound reverberates
throughout the hall, because no song
is ever quite the same
I think you understand music
every moment is beautiful
and you should cherish it
nothing will ever feel the same ever
I’m glad we’re friends
I’m glad we’re friends too
