national day weekend best weekend

basically spent the whole national day weekend with nick and it was amazing

i got up late on friday morning - i was supposed to be at his house by 6am so we could make our way to ubin and get on an early ferry. i woke up at 730 instead and panicked packed my last minute things then scurried over to his place. guess who i found still peacefully curled up in bed. he's so adorable when he sleeps i just. i woke him up (and felt so terrible about it) and i repacked my things, and waited for him to wash up. we took a cab to changi village and got into an hour long queue that we honestly weren't expecting at all.

got to ubin, and we were dying from the weight of our bags so we got on a cab ($12?!!?! what a rip off!!!) to mamam campsite and set up camp. noisy teens on our right and noisy people on our left. nick fished and i read my book. it rained for a while so nick came in and we spent an afternoon just lazing about in each other's arms, it was fantastic. when the rain ended, we went back out, but apparently some people used the table we were using and left a huge mess.

and stole nick's bait. WHY WOULD ANYONE STEAL WORMS?!

he had some more so he wasn't bothered by it, but he was pretty pissed off because he didn't manage to catch anything. we ate a lot of maggie tho. nick's great at outdoor cooking i'm just fascinated!!! i mean i know outdoor cooking works and all bc people did it before they had stoves but WOW the effort needed to make a fire and all and to actually keep it going hot enough to cook anything is a lot of work and i'm just amazed nick had the patience to do it all. night fell, and we tried to make a bigger fire, but we just didnt have enough wood, sadly.

there were a couple of middle aged men fishing to our right a short distance away, and they had a huge campfire roaring away - earlier, they had dragged a huge chunk of wood (i'm talking child size) and that fed the fire well enough.

the next day they packed up and left then one of them came over and gave us their charcoal and nick's reaction was just hilarious.

"those cheebyes had charcoal no wonder their fire was so big" and then he went into the tent and sulked for a bit

bc i am lazy to type i shall just skip a bit..

we packed up, left the campsite and managed to haul our heavy ass bags out to some sort of junction where we managed to actually get a van back to the jetty. stopped for some coconut (i had one and nick and seconds), then i ate another ice kachang. yall have no either how good cold drinks taste after all that.

after that it was homeward bound and we stopped at nick's place to drop off all his stuff and for him to wash up, then it was off to my place to meet MY parents.

surprisingly it went pretty well. we showed up with a bottle of wine and then i abandoned him to the clutches of my mom and dad while i went to finally take a shower. aaand they got along pretty well i would say. they talked about him a lot and my mom seemed to like him (even tho my dad looked a bit shocked when he saw nick's tattoos by accident)

fast forward a month and a half and i'm practically living at nick's place now and my parents don;t seem to mind this is great i hope everything still holds up.
